Christmas 2008
was a pretty good one really, especially compared to last year.
we had a christmas eve party again - i contemplated cancelling it many times as i got more and more stressed but went ahead in teh end and we had a lovely night. i spent most of christmas eve desperately cleaning and tidying though as usual it didn't get completely done.
we had a bbq and we provided the meat (sausages, chicken skewers and burgers) and asked people to bring a salad or dessert. we invited all our neighbours and quite a few of ryan's schoolmate's families and only had 2 rsvp's from that lot. brian from across the road came but that was all.
christmas day was quiet in the morning - the kids weren't awake til nearly 9am after a 10pm bedtime the day before, even with the promise of santa coming! (though santa nearly didn't come as we couldn't find where he'd left the gifts and eventually - at around 8am on christmas day - mum found them at her house even though she'd earlier said she didn't have them!)
susan had stayed the night so we all opened presents with her and then i made pancakes and bacon for breakfast and we then just relaxed while the kids played with their new toys. after lunch we realised we had to get ready to go to lynn's for dinner and we had a ton of food to make (wish we could have made it the day before but just didn't have time) so we spent hours making salads, rocky road etc :(
off for dinner at lynn's which was nice.
boxing day we did very little, didn't go out for any sales, or see anyone other than susan who came back for a few hours before heading home to work
on the 27th we went over to carol's to celebrate christmas with geoff's family - his mum had arrived down by train late the night before. we did lots of singstar and watched mamma mia lol
now it's all over and our house is a bombsite again already but i am totally over housework after all the work last wednesday lol
geoff gave me an ipod which was a total surprise! i had a cheapo mp3 player but it wouldn't play random which drove me crazy. (mind you i cna't make the ipod do it either even though i'm shaking it like geoff told me to lol)
lynn gave us tickets to dendy gold class and a voucher for babysitting
mum gave me some pandora beads - 2 little girls and a little boy plus a handbag with a pink stone, and some money which i used to buy a new bracelet (so now i have one pink themed one and one blue/green themed one)
susan gave me the angel pandora bead, and
june & reg gave me some money to buy some bead/s too.
