Hi,

Has anyone thought about eczema. I was thinking it might be a companion mutation to really dry skin. The effect of eczema is to re-moisturize skin that becomes dangerously dry. (The pus that forms underneath eczema is very similar to the same kind that forms inside blisters.) It is paired with the dry skin gene, because those who did not receive this pairing died out. Does anyone have more information regarding this? (Extremely dry skin with no eczema compared to dry skin with eczema)

I can definitely see how it is just an aberrant skin mutation, but I was wondering if it weren't. How did this mutation slip into the genome, and be allowed to persist for thousands of years. (I don't think eczema is new, it might have had time to mutate)
