Halloween - Hogwarts Style

Oct 31, 2006 13:11

A couple of friends of mine had a little Halloween get together on Sunday afternoon. We ate holiday inspired foods, we carved pumpkins, one of the hosts played Hedwig's Theme on the piano, and we watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on DVD (No, I'm not the only HP nut in Williamsburg. Maybe just the biggest.). I had lots of fun!

While the others were carving slightly more traditional bats and spooky faces, I attempted to create a homemade pattern and carving of the Hogwarts school crest. I got it a bit thin at some points (ignore the missing leg on the H), but overall I'm quite pleased with myself and have ideas for improving the design to make it more stable for next year. If I get it really good, I'll carve it into a permanent pumpkin. Anywho, assuming I did this right, the pic below links to my gallery for more pics of the pumpkin. I will probably add a couple more pics of the carving process later. My friend needs to email them to me.
