In a reflective mood:
I've had a series of really great 4th of Julys, I must admit. This year, I'm in the midst of an AWESOME production of Master Class--which I hope is only the first of many fun shows with Heritage Theatre Festival. Last year, I was unexpectedly in DC and got to enjoy the fireworks with a now very dear friend (who's an amazing cook). In 2006, I was taking summer school at WCC and was able to head up to Brooklyn to celebrate with Shenzi, Alex, Chloie, Coran, and other folks, and enjoy the NYC fireworks. In 2005, I celebrated the 4th in Rome with the Operafestival di Roma (and enjoyed the most bizarre cook-out ever--there's nothing quite like Italians trying to recreate an American grill-fest); no fireworks, but great friends, great food, and great music. In 2004, I spent the evening on a wonderful date, watching the Met perform Madama Butterfly.
Hard to really complain too much about things when I look back like that. :-P
Happy 4th of July, everyone!!!
