Of all the random things in ADWD that made me tilt my head and go, "Huh?" dyslexic!Jaime was right there at the top of the list, LOL. But I love how you brought that in here, and used it to show some insecurity he has with regard to Tyrion, even feeling a little intimidated by his little brother's brains. I love their relationship, how they both are really impressed with each other, they're such good brothers and more than anything I want these two to reconcile and give each other brotherly hugs.
What I also love here is that hint of how wise Tyrion is to Jaime and Cersei's weirdness, that he is not, in fact, trying to stop Jaime from breaking his back, but from breaking his heart. It's unfortunate he won't succeed in the long run in keeping them apart...

Instead I see astute and convincing characterization of all concerned; I can hear the harshness of Tywin's Unlike animals, we think in words, therefore language is thought, and how much does his long shadow hang over his three children here? I love how they're showing signs here of the areas in which they'll later excel: Tyrion with his learning and those dragon dreams of power, Jaime with his soldier's brain and brawn, and Cersei with her dazzling beauty and cruel cunning. And the image of six year old Tyrion smacking Jaime with that enormous book, in an effort to make him wake up and see a few things, is such a great one ( ... )
