I don't know why kissing in the rain is so awesome. Probably because kissing pretty much anywhere is awesome. Also, lying on your back and watching cloud shapes go by is several kinds of groovy, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't done it yet. Also also, I need to get on the ball with that mistletoe thing. And the sunset thing.
Okay, now on with the show.
Mom and dad went down to Kentucky for the weekend and are finally coming back today. I've been manning the house solo for a few days, and it's been painfully boring for the most part, which coupled with Alexis's situation has left me feeling kind of blah and unmotivated. I baked a cake on Tuesday and didn't get around to actually icing it 'till yesterday. I was actaully feeling better yesterday, though, for some various reasons, but I'm certainly thankful for that.
So, what's up with me? Painfully little, I'm afraid. The jobhunt is as fruitless as ever, although I am apparently still in consideration for that job lead from a friend at church I interviewed for a couple weeks ago. I've been keeping in contact with the guy who interviewed me via email, and apparently the company is trying to figure out exactly what it wants to do about hiring new employees. Damn slow-ass management. Just tell me I'm in or I'm out; it's the waiting that I can't stand. I also called a guy about a web design job that didn't pan out, and I've been following some leads another friend from church who works at LexusNexus provided me, but those haven't gone anywhere either, yet.
Alexis got her first round of stitches out Tuesday, but I didn't get to hear how it went until yesterday. She's feeling a lot more comfortable now, obviously, but apparently this is a really sensitive week for her, and in a worst case scenario... things... could come loose. Holy Jesus. You'd think if that was a danger, they'd leave some stitches in those areas, but apparently this is a common practice to reduce scarring. *cough* I'll never understand cosmetic surgery. I don't anticipate that will be a problem, though. Alexis knows how to take care of herself, and the doctor said she was apparently healing "very well." Whether that means "above average" or "without complications," I can't say, but either way it's a good thing. She's feeling a little better and a little worse about the whole thing, but I'm pretty sure she'll be doing better when this week has passed and she doesn't have to worry about... that. It'll be a long while before she's back to 100%, but I'm pretty sure she'll survive until then. With a good dose of TLC, anyway.
... honestly, though...
... nah, that's probably something I should just discuss with her.
In other news, though, I have reacquainted myself with eBay in order to purchase a very specific item. Yes, it's a 12-inch tall Hello Kitty plush in a kimono. YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHO IT'S FOR!! :O Unless you do, that is. Which you probably will, 'cause it's fairly obvious. She already knows it's coming, though, because I have a hard time with bean spillage. Plus, you know, I had to figure out if I should have the guy mail it to her apartment, or her parents' place. ROMANTIC! Turns out the right address is her place, 'cause she's gonna be there for awhile! Not sure how long a while, but at least long enough to get mail and give phone calls, which is pretty damn groovy.
I wonder how long that link will stay active?
Oh well. I've already spent too much time on this entry this morning, and I needs me some breakfast. PEACE!!
