Personality: When we first meet him, Chase's role in our band of unlikely heroes is to be the token "dumb guy," making blunt, dim-witted comments at almost every opportunity. Unlike most of the people who fill these roles, however, it's not ever cute or sweet or innocent; it's mostly just obnoxious and his team mates let him know. Much like his fellow "dumb guys," however, there is something hiding under that slow, "street smart" exterior, and it's not a heart of gold.
Chase truly believes that he is (or was) a horrible person. Having been raised by chronically disappointed, abusive (and legitimately evil) parents, he's always been a little bitter about the fact that he couldn't live up to their expectations, and he never learned how to show any other emotion than anger. It's fair to say he became a bit ruthless when felt wronged, and this became clear after Gert's death when he was offered a deal to bring her back.
