I'm glad you're inspired to write! With me I sometimes make it up as I go along and then other times I'll plan my chapters -- those times are rare though. I rewrite my stories at least a hundred times so maybe if my chapters were better planned out I would cut back on some of the rewriting ( ... )

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was thinking, "wait, didn't your home and most of your possessions just get destroyed? Why are you so cheerful?" after the fire scene. :)

Slughorn was a good choice, I agree. First I was doubtful but it turns out he was just right in showing the character.

Although I loved the movie, I actually completely agree with all of your points. I can’t buy Harry being able to keep still and remain that calm in the situation. And the Half-Blood Prince stuff and discovering Voldemort’s history was very brief.

I had hoped they would have included more of the history of Tom Riddle such as showing his fascination with the prized house-founder objects, and Dumbledore going to that house for the ring etc.. because it gives a really interesting background, but I guess that was being overly hopeful.
