I'm glad you're inspired to write! With me I sometimes make it up as I go along and then other times I'll plan my chapters -- those times are rare though. I rewrite my stories at least a hundred times so maybe if my chapters were better planned out I would cut back on some of the rewriting.

I felt exactly the same about the movie. I was kind of dreading it because I thought they were going to change it a lot, but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as bad as I was anticipating.

The end definitely annoyed me the most with Dumbledore not freezing Harry and the part with Snape and I kept waiting for everyone to be shocked, but like you said, they just seemed to accept is. Also, is it just me, or did Ron and the Weasley's not seem properly upset about their house getting burned down, oh, and Hagrid didn't even turn up while his house was burning down. I kind of think the Weasley's house on fire was unnecessary. I would have preferred to see the Order defending Hogwarts than that. And they didn't have the funeral, maybe they'll include it in Deathly Hollows.

I agree though, this movie overall was better than the previous movies and I did enjoy it. I particularly like the actor they chose for Slughorn. He was perfect, exactly how I imagined him.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was thinking, "wait, didn't your home and most of your possessions just get destroyed? Why are you so cheerful?" after the fire scene. :)

Slughorn was a good choice, I agree. First I was doubtful but it turns out he was just right in showing the character.
