God I can't stand idiot drivers. Driving home last night and to and from karate, it seemed there was a magnet drawing stupid people into the area. It was ridiculous how poorly people were driving. One person had a license plate that said "Luv Jzus". Yeah, you'd better, because if you keep driving like that, *clenches fist* YOU'LL BE MEETING HIM SOON!
Of course, I couldn't throw any stones last night. I happened to be singing the hokey pokey while driving to karate. The thing is, I unconciously started doing it while I was driving. If I had gotten pulled over... I can only imagine the look on the cop's face when I told him I was driving all over the place because I was doing the hokey pokey.
I went to the information session at TCC about the NNSY apprenticeship program. Looks like this is a pretty good deal. It says in the booklet they gave me that starting pay is $10.30. The guy said that because of cost of livings increases and whatnot, it would more than likely be $10.70, but I'll believe it when I see it. In any case, it starts at $10.30 and you get a pay raise every six months. $10.30 to $10.74, to $12.15, etc. After four years you'll be at $16.04. While you're in the program your hours are from 7:20 to 4:00. Any classes your taking will start at 4:30 or 5:00 and will go no later than 8:00. The classes you take will be determined by which track your on. The first track will give you a certificate, while the second one will give you an associate's degree. I'm hoping to get on the second track.
In order to get into the program, I have to possibly re-enroll at TCC. I only took the English part of the entrance exam because I was doing dual enrollment in high school. Since I never passed any math classes while I was at CNU, I'll probably have to take that. Hopefully they won't make me re-take the English part again.
In any case I need to be readmitted to TCC and get my resume in, which is done online. I've got it mostly done, I just need to remember how many credit hours I had when I left CNU. Everything has to be in by the 19th. Once that's done, they'll send me a letter in December to let me know if I get an interview. If I get an interview it'll be sometime in January. If I pass the interview, I start work in July.
I see no reason for me not to get into the program. I may not have had alot of jobs, but what I've done has been pretty varied. I test well, so any tests I have to take in order to get in shouldn't be a problem. Thanks to the fact that I left CNU when I did, my GPA didn't drop below 2.0. I interview well, so that shouldn't be difficult. The only problem I might have is meeting the November 19 deadline. As long as I do everything I'm supposed to, I shouldn't have any problems.
There is something else I wanted to bring up about this, but I'm tired, so for now I'll let it go. And this update is long enough :)
My knees and hip, and now my foot, have been bothering me alot lately. I took out that insteps I had for my shoes, and they were completely flat. And my shoes are all raggedy looking anyway. I'm thinking all this pain is due to my shoes crapping out on me. I went to the Athlete's Foot since they sell the insteps I buy, as well as have a buy 1 pair, get the second pair half off. Bought two pairs of shoes, one for running and one for work, since the work ones were ruined when I spilled cytology stain on them, and two sets of insteps. Cost me $140. More than I would've liked to spend, but I wore them home and the difference was immediate. I definitely needed new shoes.
Is it okay to hear Chris Berman when you masturbate? Seriously. HE... COULD... GO... ALL... THE... WAY! WHOOP! Gah! Go away, Boomer!
One of the things my brother hates most is when I start "backing it up" when listening to music. Especially when that music is of the classical variety. "Stop that! You can't back it up to classical music!" Shows what he knows.
