while i'm supposed to be writing a paper, i write this silly little diddy about peace

peace is possible in our time
we just have to define
the truth of rightly guided living
i hate to offend all of the squares
warmongers and short hairs
but i don't expect their forgiving
peace is possible
you know it is impossible
to keep on getting in its way
'cause today we are beginning
to make the change that history will recognize
as the beginning of the process that overcame
our history of simply letting
ourselves be satisfied with pain
peace has been declared today
joy is the feeling of our time
we just have to remind
eachother to get up, get out, and feel it
i don't mean to upset all the hateniks
falsifiers and fake shits
but no one needs no materialness (anyway)
joy is here for us
we know it is real because
we all have had it in some way
and today is the begining
of the dawning of an age that will be known
for rebeginning the process that overcame
our history of simply letting
ourselves be satisfied with pain
