Shop 'Til You Drop
Yesterday afternoon, for the second consecutive Saturday, I went out to shop for Christmas presents. Ordinarily, I would have been finished by now, though thanks to the Chapter's Event, much of my purchasing was delayed. Fortunately, I was able to get everything done yesterday.
The Town Centre, where I normally shop, was so crowded that I can only imagine the sheer pandemonium that would unfold on a day even closer to Christmas - such as Christmas Eve, for example. Now, I have never known the place to be anything but busy, but even by their standards there were far too many people.
Though nearly all my funds have now been absorbed by the "spirit of giving", and I've been exhausted by the carrying of the parcels and the stress of the searching and securing the parcels in question, I do feel a strong sense of satisfaction at having all my shopping complete.
Now they're all wrapped and sitting in my closet - waiting for the fateful day that is now exactly two weeks hence...
