Scary Times

Media here has been saturated with coverage of the Victorian bushfires, which have claimed over 25 lives and hundreds of properties, with many more expected to be discovered over the coming days as the full extent of the damage becomes apparent.

Yet again the contrast that is Australia is fully evident, with the worst fires in memory hitting Victoria, and severe flooding arising from cyclones covering Queensland.

Closer to home, we have fires here on the Central Coast and Hunter districts of NSW, but these cannot compare to the devestation down south.

We're thinking of all those touched by these fires, and hope that today's conditions improve and help but not hinder efforts to bring the blazes under control.

fires, weather, floods
