Week 15: New England Patriots 41, Denver Broncos 23 (11-3) (Sunday, December 18, 2011)

Who else was watching the mega-hyped Game of the Season? ;)

The game started out dreadfully for the Patriots. The defense literally could not stop the Broncos. Tebow scored the first TD and marched them down again after the Patriots scored. The Broncos did muff the extra point on the first TD but it didn’t come back to haunt them…

…because the Patriots began to take control! Tommy scored a touchdown of his own. Good show! ;) Chad Ochocinco caught his first TD pass of the season. It was his only catch of the game. I think he has 13 for the year. I was really rooting for him to be a success, but his production has been very disappointing.

Other scorers were Ben-Jarvus Green-Ellis, Danny Woodhead, and Aaron Hernandez. The defense finally woke up and caused three turnovers. It’s a scary secondary, that’s for sure. I don’t know if we can advance in the playoffs but we’ll be there as the Pats clinched the AFC East today!

Sadly we lost one of our best defensive players, Andre Carter, to a quad injury that is going to require surgery. He was our best pass rusher! :(

Tommy has 35 touchdowns, the third straight season he’s thrown for 35 or more. He had 50 in 2007. Not only pretty but smart and talented! ;)

The team was pretty sick of all the Tebow talk. Did you know there are people out there comparing Tebow to Tom? A guy who's played nine NFL games compared to a future Hall-Of-Famer? The hype is mega-ridiculous!

Bill Belichick is the first coach in NFL history to have nine 10-win seasons.

So, Tebow Time was a bust this week. Yay! Sorry, fellow f-listers who are Broncos fans. The Patriots wait for no fan! ;)

The Patriots clinched the AFC East at 11-3 and are hoping to get a bye in the playoffs. The Jets lost big to Philly so are 8-6, Miami (5-9) won over Buffalo, who are 5-9 now with six straight losses.

Next week: the currently hot Miami Dolphins at Gillette!
