The showers fell, greening the Manor’s lawn while they fed the flowers, all yellow and red and purple and pink. The fountain in
the center of the proper English garden was shut off, rainwater replacing the pumped-in variety. The cherub holding the water
pitcher seemed pleased.
The ocean tossed and turned in a gray/blue tempest, the sun blocked by the gray clouds. Wind off the ocean bent the branches
of trees just beginning to bud, a few stray apple blossoms blowing past the window.
Inside the bedroom of Bruce Wayne, the Lord of the Manor was sleeping peacefully in his lover’s arms.
Clark smiled as he listened to Bruce’s steady breathing and the sound of the rain on the roof. He loved the smell of the rain itself
and fresh earth after the showers. The flowers were always brighter and more colorful after rainfall, and the whole world seemed
alive after the clouds scudded away and the sun came out, everything draped in rainbow jewels as raindrops shimmered on nature’s
bounty.
Clark reveled in the warmth of Bruce’s skin pressed against his, his hand lightly resting over his lover’s heart and listening to the
pulse of life. A relaxed, peaceful Bruce was a beautiful sight to behold, and he was one of the few privileged to witness it.
He felt content, happy, and very, very lucky.
Bruce moved slightly, beginning to awaken, and Clark smiled as he began to rain kisses down on the beloved face as steadily as
the rain on the roof.
