As you can see by the icon on this post, I am busy utilizing my userpic packages and gathering more cool pix to showcase. I can't resist Clark using his heat vision to cook the hot dogs and burgers on the grill. :)
Speaking of cook-outs, I did attend one over the weekend with the requisite menu: hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, potato salad, garden salad, chips, dips, pickles, olives...you know, good stuff! :) Everything tastes better on the grill!

My marvel-bang story is coming along steadily. I'm trying to write a certain number of words (or a full page in my notebook) per day. I don't always succeed but I've been getting enough words written so that I'm up to 7,936 so far, close to the minimum of 10,000 words, so I'm good. I tightened up some scenes and instead of one chapter for a certain scene, I was able to fold it into another chapter (and it made sense). I did have to do some research yesterday for period details, so now the scenes I'm currently working on should flow nicely.
I may even have a new one-shot to post soon. Working on longfic is cool but doesn't make for too many posts, so it's nice to get shorter pieces in between.
My profic is slightly stalled, but I have an idea to get it rolling again.
As always, still works waiting in my notebook queue that are in various stages: some are being edited/typed, others need major reworking, others are complete but I need to find them and decide if they're ready for posting. And I'd still love to do something for the clexmas 2016 Spring Fling Reverse Bang, but even though there's some fantastic art, nothing has inspired me yet. *sigh* I may have to pass on that one.
Yep, I know it's July, but I'm going to give everyone a heads-up for my annual DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge! Every year since LJ became a ghost town (ha, ha) I've wondered whether this will be my last year hosting this, but hope springs eternal, looks like. I may still put up a poll gauging interest but I'm thinking perhaps with the Rebirth titles we may get a few people energized to create some cool fanworks. Anyway, either the poll or the notice of the Challenge will probably be posted soon. Even though you might be at the beach, start thinking of falling leaves, whispering winds, crisp days and cool nights! ;)
