Week 4: Kansas City Chiefs 41, New England Patriots 14 (2-2) (Monday, September 29, 2014)
Stink, stank, stunk!
Dreadful, abysmal, horrific.
That about sums it up! The offense couldn't do anything, the defense was Swiss cheese, and the coaching was stinkeroo. The only guys who could hold up their heads were on special teams. Tom can't get time to throw because his offensive line is awful, plain and simple. He had few receivers to throw to, anyway: Julian Edelman, his binky, and Gronk, who isn't 100% after his ACL injury. The rest of the receivers? Put 'em on a milk carton!
BTW, Tom is awful, too. He's missing receivers the few times they get open. He's shellshocked! He's gotten beaten up an awful lot in the first four games. Uncharacteristic bad decisions, too. :(
This was the worst game we've seen in the Belichick/Brady era. Jeez, I thought games like this would be A.B.: After Brady! Holes everywhere, poor execution, flat-as-pancakes in spirit. It'll be interesting to see if they can fix things in the next month. If it's lack of execution, it's fixable. If it's lack of talent, they're screwed and my first line above will be the usual review. It's a disgrace that this team would field a team of no-talent nobodies around Tom Brady, who is on the back nine of his career.
They might still make the playoffs because the division stinks, but after the first game at home (if they win that), forget it. Good teams will just push 'em around like K.C. did.
NE 2-2
BUFF 2-2
Miami 2-2
NYJ 1-3
Next week, the high-flying Cincinnati Bengals at Foxboro! Yikes!
