Admitted students - Average ASU/transfer GPA: 3.44
Denied students - Average ASU/transfer GPA: 2.92
Seeing as how my GPA was barely above that of the students denied to the Business school's Professional Program, some statistics made me think I had a slim shot at being admitted. On the other hand, if a student with 4+ years of full-time real world experience with computers couldn't get accepted to the program, what the heck else would it take? My mom had joked with me that it would be awfully absurd for me to not get admitted to the program when I could meet all the qualifications for some staff positions at the Business school's own Help Desk.
Dear Brady,
Congratulations on your admission to the Professional Program in Computer Information Systems
The letter seemed a little thick, but for all I knew it could have had extra materials in there to reapply for the professional program. It was thick for very good reason. It told me what I needed to do to stay in the program, and even gave a list of the courses that they recommend I take in the next two years.
I'm going with a bunch of friends to see a movie, probably Ultraviolet, this evening. After that, I'm not sure what we're gonna do, but it will be fun whatever it is. Time to celebrate.
This is random & interesting...
