The future of television

I'll admit it:  I was one of those cynics who disagreed with the notion that people will soon soon watch most of their television on their computers.

From a practical standpoint, it didn't make sense.  I mean, how many people sit on the couch while they surf the Internet?  I imagine most home offices are not set up with television watching in mind ( Read more... )

I completely agree! I couldn't watch T.V. on my computer unless my T.V. was broke or something tragic!

Total, total fan of watching TV on the web. It's handy. Plus, you can upload it on your iPod.

I have an iPod Nano, so watching TV on the go is not an option. Plus you have to have a computer that is capable of playing streaming video flawlessy. Nobody wants to watch a show where the audio and video aren't synched up.

That said, this is a big step in the right direction. Can you imagine if you had entire seasons available at the click of a button?

I'm about to purchase an iPod (I have a Shuffle, but it's time to upgrade) and unsure which iPod to purchase (stuck between the Classic and the Touch).

Incredible. Which makes me lean towards the Touch, since it's Internet ready via a wi-fi connection.

Also - last night's Lost episode BLEW MY MIND. Trying to decipher it through Jeff Jenson's column now: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20184253,00.html
(Can you tell it's Friday and I don't feel like working?)

I would lean toward the Touch because of the wi-fi capabilities.

re: Lost. A lot of people on the Pop Candy blog are saying Jin is still on the island. And I'm thinking: If Jin is still alive on the island, why was Jin bawling next to his tombstone? He's dead, people.

Now we just need to figure out how that can possibly be.
