A Baby's Cry
You don't really get a sense of how much you love your son/daughter until you take them to the pediatrician for their four-month appointment, and you're forced to sit and watch while the nurse gives them four shots in succession.
Olivia's miniature face went from content to terrrified in an instant. I felt so bad that I nearly cried right along with her.
The worst part was that it was a "silent cry". You know, their face is beet red, their mouth is open in what is clearly an expression of pain, but no sound is coming out?
Yeah, that kind of cry.
It was horrible.
I think the events of the day drained her energy, which enabled her to sleep for 11 hours last night.
