The Baltimore Sun reports that the major television studios are beginning to cancel writer contracts in a sign that this television season cannot be salvaged.  Some are speculating the 2008-09 season could also be affected by the strike.  The networks may be suffering, but they're getting by on reality shows, reruns, and sports.

Of course, this means more episodes of unimaginative reality TV, like "Moment of Truth" and "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?".

I am going to cherish the eight episodes of "Lost" we're getting at the end of this month.  They might be the only good television we see for quite some time.

television, lost
