Feeling Viral...

Sep 09, 2010 15:27

We are crawling here at MadTv. Some person in Philly received an e-mail and clicked the link. The link launches a virus (or something) that reviews the global address book and sends an e-mail message to everyone in the global address book. Yes, compound this by over how many employees, and you have a virtual Christmas shipping nightmare.

The last viral message I received was at 1:22. They turned off the exchange server at 2:05. To date, I have received 153 e-mails with this viral message from about 20 people. Three of them had read receipts. Yes, of course, I sent the receipt back. Stupidity should kill. Or at least fill up an inbox. Why these people click the link, I will never know. The message was improperly formatted and contained improper wording and grammar. Doesn’t this just scream SPAM! (Update, e-mail is back up… I have 394 spam messages and they keep coming!)

Funny, e-mail is now down and people here in the office are like meh. Maybe, I’ll get some work done.

In other MadTV news, things are going well. I do like it here. Poor Nick, I don’t have any good stories to share with him. Over are the days of one-up-manship in the work department. I have nothing. People are smart here. They work smart, they think smart and frankly love me. I have two 23 inch monitors on order somewhere. The Pink Poodle couldn’t believe how many different windows I have open when I do something. One day, I know I had about 15 windows open. I think I may crash the computer with all the thinking I am making it do. It isn’t hard core data crunching, but it is doing some work. I know I will need to upgrade the memory in it when I start cruzin.

I am learning the ins and outs of SharePoint. The sever platform is version 2. This means the stuff I want to do, I can’t because it doesn’t support all the little widgets out there. Frankly, it hates me.  They are upgrading to the 2010 version next month. So, I will have to redo the development I have been doing in the version we have now. I have been finding all these cool things I can do, but can’t because it isn’t supported. Most of it is data related. DOH.
