You're going to love this set. I think it's significantly better than last year's, and I love last years. But this... it's like Vidsplosion.

26 DW vids?! Wow that's way too many. *lol* I'm intrigued by the very good ones though... I am often at odds with Who fandom and it's very rare I find a Who vid that really resonates with me.

You and I seem similar in how we see Doctor Who vids. So have you watched flummery's Handlebars yet? What did you think?

Ohhhhh THAT's the Ten vid I've been waiting for! \o/ (I had not seen it until you recced it.) Yup, I love it. There was one jarring aspect for me, and that was the unfortunate 'American' lyric (since DW's Britishness is so quintessential for me), but the song was otherwise PERFECT. It captured the spirit completely appropriately to me--both the aspects I love about the new Who and the aspects I hate (his self-aggandisement, and the way the show has framed him as hero without problematising it enough im(extremely)ho). And more specifically it captures Ten's joie de vivre for once instead of casting him as the King of Angst or Schmoop: YAY! The opening was particularly exhileratingly perfect.

I look forward to watching all the Action vids! And totally agree about Premieres and Challenge vids. So incredibly amazing. And I was surprised by all the niceness my first year too but the people at VVC are just the greatest.

Maybe it's a sign you should watch it? ;) There was definitely a lot of sci-fi at the con.

I'd like to start watching Doctor Who. I admit I'm a little intimidated by all of the mythos and backstory that I've missed, though.

So was this your first VVC? You looked so much more comfortable than I felt!

Just start from the 9th Doctor, that's what I did and I was fine. I am going to go back and completely catch up though.

Nope it was my third one! If it was my first I'd have been much more scared and overwhelmed but getting used to the schedule and names and faces really helps. It just becomes overwhelming to try to get a chance to talk to everyone you know!
