I'm glad you liked the effects. I don't usually use them so this was quite a change for me. I'm flattered that it's on you favorite vids list. :) Hope you keep enjoying it.

Thanks a bunch! I thought it was really important to keep a frenetic pace for this one, so I really appreciate the comments on that front.

You're just the greatest, you know that? I need to do another "for Jacqui." Oh, I've been thinking about remastering/re-editing Bring Me To Life in Ulead. Does that count?

Spectacular is good. Spectacular is a preferred adjective. Go with that. :) Seriously, I'm glad you enjoyed the presentation. I was doing things and cringing as I did them because everything I know about vidding was telling me "no," but I just felt like that's how it wanted to be.

The blood shot was from Buffy vs. Dracula, the "find your true nature" montage. It was like a half-second shot. Good eye! There were a lot of other visual matches that worked thematically and I wanted to get in, but either the movement wasn't as dramatic or they derailed the narrative.

I'm so happy you enjoyed this one. With all the different, the anxiety was big and the hopes were small. But I guess different is good... keeps everything from getting stagnant.

How much did I love this? The heartbeat and fades at the beginning was great. I was a little unsure about that transitiony thing (don't mock my made-up phrases)at first, but then I got to :47, realized just how great it was, rewatched the vid, and loved it all the way through. It never ceases to amaze me how you find such similar shots and weave them together so well.

Great job.

Thanks you. Sorry I couldn't give you a personal preview this time. I was a little unsure about the transitiony thing too (this is me stealing your made-up phrase), but in the past I've beaten myself up for not going all the way with my concepts. This was about as all-the-way as I could go, for better or worse.

Now come back and do my work for me so I can vid more!

You know, the longer the effects go on, the more hypnotic it became. It lures you into the flow of the vid. And it matched audio very well.

I LOVED how the visuals correlated to the audio, it was fantastic. My favourite sequence is from 2:38 onward with the "wahh, WAHH! Squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak." Well, you know what I mean. The squeaks had me in stitches because it was so accurately matched, first with Oz charging down the hall and then with Drus spider-fingering up Angel, and then Angel doing his head shaky thing with that... uh... tattoo demon guy. :D

More timestamps:

Love the heartbeat motif right from the outset. And I liked the two matching sets: Oz&Xander, Angel&Spike.
0:09 - close-up of B's neck. Very nice ( ... )

Hey - there's still a whee! Either that or I managed to blind you halfway through and you're just being optimistic about how it ended. I'm honestly surprised that you liked this one. Happy, of course, but surprised. At times during the editing it seemed like everything I was doing was a big no-no.

=) This vid's really bringing out the inner wordsmith in you and cyren_2134. I certainly intended for the vid to be funny. The characters themselves are very funny, and "horror" on Buffy is funny more times than not. But "real life" on Buffy is not, and there's always that tragic jolt of reality just around the corner. You totally nailed the idea for the vid with this line:
Rather, there's this tremendous feeling of helplessness from the guys, as the girls (whether inadvertently or otherwise) start something, and then the animal just takes over, and it's horror for all.I was trying to say that over and over throughout but in an almost comedic way, like someone saying "no ( ... )
