Vid Title: Man or Animal Artist/Song: Audioslave - "Man or Animal" Duration: 4:02 wmv Characters: Oz/Angel/Xander/Spike-Willow/Buffy/others Summary: Passion turns the guys of BtVS into animals.
Hey - there's still a whee! Either that or I managed to blind you halfway through and you're just being optimistic about how it ended. I'm honestly surprised that you liked this one. Happy, of course, but surprised. At times during the editing it seemed like everything I was doing was a big no-no.
then Angel doing his head shaky thing with that... uh... tattoo demon guy =) This vid's really bringing out the inner wordsmith in you and cyren_2134. I certainly intended for the vid to be funny. The characters themselves are very funny, and "horror" on Buffy is funny more times than not. But "real life" on Buffy is not, and there's always that tragic jolt of reality just around the corner. You totally nailed the idea for the vid with this line: Rather, there's this tremendous feeling of helplessness from the guys, as the girls (whether inadvertently or otherwise) start something, and then the animal just takes over, and it's horror for all. I was trying to say that over and over throughout but in an almost comedic way, like someone saying "no seriously, listen" more and more insistently as the mirth continues. Then at the end no one's laughing. Hopefully.
It's so super nice seeing the moments that you enjoyed the most (timestamps, how do I love thee?) Had a lot of fun with the bridge. That and the lyric ties in the verses were probably the two most fun things to edit. I'm glad you liked the "keep the feathers on the chicken" scene (and kudos for even hearing the line) since it was one of the final things on the storyboard. Tried to weave lots of Oz-guitar shots and lusty dancing into the thing because it fit the the song and the overall theme. Plus there's this part of the song that sounds like the Buffy theme, so I tried to use a shot from the opening credits (often dancing) each time it came up.
The swoopy time toggles were a total YouHomage. I'm not nearly as good at them as you, but I'm carefully watching how you use them. That camera movement to the Pack spin was another byproduct of that.
howling on that sustained note, going to him on the guitar holding the same note The very first idea for the vid! The whole thing grew from that.
It's such a nice surprise that you enjoyed this. If you liked watching it and had fun with it (and it sounds like you did), then I'm a happy, happy man.
