Last Tuesday, it was raining which was too much for part of the Bellevue power grid to handle, so it lost power to the block of the city where I practice Iaido. And since it is generally agreed that waving sharp pointy things around in the dark is a *bad* idea, we had to cancel practice.
On Wednesday, we gamed. I arrived a little late, but just in time. We entered the abandoned monastery and came across dead monks. The cleric touched one of his brothers, who stirred. The monk did not like the look of this and bashed the brother, who turned and tore into him, leaving him paralyzed. Fighting continued and slowly, more of the party was paralyzed. Everyone started looking at Kularka (my ranger), who continued standing in the corner firing arrows into the advancing undead. We worked on clearing out the rest of the floor.
And the DM trying to be tactical as the PCs find ways to kill the undead with minimal risk, though in the end we were barricaded in a doorway with 20 zombies, 4 Ghouls and 2 Ghasts around us. The monk and 2 fighters defended each of the 3 directions, while the elven rogue and ranger both shot arrows to slowly down the horde. The cleric (whose player had to work) was in the middle with a readied action to turn if any player was paralyzed (effect of ghouls and ghasts) or went down. Eventually (~10 rounds or 3 hours real world), players went down and the cleric turned 12HD. And again! Then it was the fun little mop up operation.... Session ends: +2000xp per PC. :)
Thursday, I went over to a friend's house and had dinner. Then returned home 6 hours later.
Friday, I drove back over to the U district and went with a different friend to see March of the Penguins. And my predilection is certainly more towards watching baby penguins wander about than the latest horror flick. So after a movie and conversation, it was after midnight again.
Saturday, I ran errands and even did a little bit of shopping.
Sunday had church! And the end of Daylight Savings Time, which I totally missed and lost the opportunity to recover an hour of sleep. I was invited over for dinner after church. And in the evening, went to a friend's house for a Halloween Party. Given my limited time to plan (I had been invited on Thursday), I just wore my Iaido gear. And this party went like most others I've attended, though we did play "Zombies!" at the end.
And today is today.
