Hopefully these aren't boring to all of you!
Today I am wearing Dragon's Reverie, which I got as a "frimp". This is the description: Opium-laced dreams of flame, plunder, power and fury: dragon’s blood resin, poppy, amber and ylang ylang. Well, I'm not sure that this will give me dreams of plunder or power, but it is a very nice scent. It is quite sweet, laid over with a musky, light incense sort of smell, with a perfume of something like exotic flowers and something almost salty behind it. Not one I would have picked myself, but it's really rather lovely.
Yesterday I tried La Bella Donna Della Die Mente, described a: Soft, lush myrtle and dry, sweet melilot with wild rose, pomegranate juice and peach blossom against a background of deep aquatic notes and a twirl of melancholy autumn breezes. I have no idea what myrtle or melilot smell like, but this is a delicious smell. It goes on really sweet, with an overriding scent of peach, but it settles down into something more sophisticated and rich. I can definitely pick out watery notes, but it's not a cold scent at all.
I also tried White Rabbit, described as: Strong black tea and milk with white pepper, ginger, honey and vanilla, spilled over the crisp scent of clean linen. That sounds yummy. However, on me I got... almost nothing. Just a very thin scent that was slightly sour. Bleh. I'll give it a try in a week or two and see if it smells any different then.
So, out of the imp pack I got, I seem to have got three scents I'm likely to wear and enjoy (the other one is Dorian), which from the sounds of things is a pretty good hit rate.
