crab!
the hodgman reading was last tuesday and it was lots of fun. the place was packed.
it was odd to see him in shorts and odder still to realize he has huge calves.
he is very witty and quick on his feet. his repartee with the audience--including a few unfortunate hecklers--was the second best part. the first best part was him reading "top spots for crab"--my request! and i wasn't the only one who said so. before beginning, he mentioned that it was a request from "bourgeois pig" and david and karen pointed at me and so he asked me (we were near the front) if I was bourgeois pig. and I said "yes". and then he again chastised me for not updating my blog. then after the piece he asked if i shopped at foster's market (a rundown 70s style grocery story which is mentioned as a top spot for crab in greenfield) and I said "no". i didn't give him much material but he was really nice.
