Liverpool is now top of the Premier League table, and have also qualified for the knock-out stages in the Champions League. And this past weekend we learned that they have drawn Preston North End in the FA Cup.
It was a disappointing draw with West Ham at Anfield last night that saw Liverpool earn one point to claim the top spot after Arsenal (controversially) beat Chelsea on Sunday. It was another of those situations where Liverpool dominated West Ham but simply could not find the back of the net. And not for lack of trying. A lot of credit to the Hammers' goalkeeper, but there were too many shots that went off target, and too much scrappy play around the box. Riera was looking tired for much of the game. Babel needed to have been brought on earlier. Keane, well Keane was nowhere to be seen. Even Stevie G was having a crap night. Sami Hyppia probably had the best night of the Reds.
This weekend the Reds go to Ewood Park to play Blackburn. I'm going to be out of town on Saturday so I will miss it. This is another game that by rights we should win, but based on the difficulty we seem to be having at the moment in getting the ball across the line, I really don't know how to predict it.
Come on you Reds!
