... that means I spent all night in front of the TV, watching the season premieres of House and Boston Legal (a 90-minute episode).
Watching House being forced to essentially work alone was interesting. It should be fun to see him "interviewing" the candidates for his new team (of course, we all know that the old team are coming back - as
ozreison pointed out, the actors' names are all still in the opening credits). Watching him go up against Wilson was a lot of fun, too - I've missed those two over the summer. (Yeah, I have the DVDs, but it's not the same.) And the ending was just tragic - the show sometimes gets criticized for being formulaic, but tonight's ending was anything but.
And Boston Legal... ah, how I love Alan Shore and Denny Crane. From the opening, in which Denny's "date" turned out to be an undercover cop busting him for trying to pay for sex (I loved his reaction to having the handcuffs slapped on him), to watching Clarence in his alter ego as Clarice performing a song from "Hairspray", to watching Judge Sanders trying to figure out what he's saying while he's in the middle of a sentence, to watching the firm interact with Carl Sack (John Larroquette, replacing Rene Auberjonois, though Rene is supposed to be back later this season), they hit all the points that make me love this show. The one drawback is the revolving door for the supporting cast - just when I was starting to kind of like Brad, the character left the firm (though Mark Valley is still appearing occasionally as a prosecutor). I'm wondering where the plotline with Shirley and Carl is going, though - I suspect it won't end well.
Only problem is, I need some new Boston Legal icons, and there seems to be a paucity of appropriate images on the web. :(
