Chapter Three: Terrifying Emergence

-=The First Day=-
11:47 PM

The streets of Revere echoed with the sounds of the city night; car horns, dogs barking, and people yelling. The night was cool and snowy, the fresh powder having fallen not that long ago. But there were no clouds in the sky now; the stars were shining bright down on the large city. It was peaceful, even for the city. A single man walked down the middle of one street, moving slowly and lazily. His steps were staggered and inaccurate. He was singing softly to himself, the song “Don’t Stop Believing”. In his hand, he was carrying a brown paper bag, in the shape of a bottle. His words were slurred and he would start hysterically laughing at random times. The man was obviously drunk off his rocker.

“Just a small time girl….! Living in a lonely world….” The man was practically yelling. He staggered to his left and nearly fell over the street curb. He stifled a laugh as he got his balance again, or at least tried to, then continued walking. He brought his paper bag alcohol up to his lips to take a sip.

“Bah, no more rum.” He grumbled. “That sucks.” He threw his empty alcohol back behind him, letting out a cheer. He waited for the sound of the glass breaking on the pavement.

But he never heard it.

He drunkenly tried to turn himself around, almost falling over. His vision was blurry so he couldn’t quite make out what he was seeing.

Eleven tall and cloaked figures stood in a straight line behind him, they’re faces hidden under their hoods. Their black cloaks moved gently with the wind that was blowing. Their arms were straight down next to their sides and they stood erect as statues. The tallest figure, the one in the middle, had its right hand up and it was holding the bottle. Its hand was a pale blue color, reflecting the night lightly. Covering its hand and arm was a large metal gauntlet, sharp points and ridges covering it. It stuck tightly onto its skin. The only free part of its hand was the finger tips and the under part of the hand, which was holding on tightly to the bottle. It stepped forward towards the drunk man.

“Hey dude, what the hell are you all supposed to be? Cultists? Halloween already passed by, you idiots.” The drunken man said, scoffing.

A chuckle emerged from the figure walking towards him.

“What’s so funny, Chuckles?” The man said, stepping forward to counteract the figure.

It remained silent, still walking towards him. It held the bottle out towards the man as they got closer.

“You gonna give me back my bottle? Psh, you can just drop it for all I care” He muttered with a chuckle.

He saw the figure’s hood rise up a little, as if to look at him better. They were only steps away from each other. The figure gave a slight nod and the bottle slipped from its hands.

The bottle fell almost in slow motion. As it slipped past the figure’s fingertips, the gauntlet suddenly whirred to life. Electricity crackled down the metal covering the fingers and formed a ball of lightning, hovering right above the figure’s palms. Electricity continued shooting into the ball, keeping it spinning. The figure thrust his arm forward even more, pushing the electric ball into the man’s chest. The man’s eyes bugged out as the electricity ran through his body. His body shook violently. A growl emerged from under hood and the drunken man’s chest exploded with a loud crack. A charred hole was left where the figure’s gauntlet covered hand was now. And the bottle wasn’t even half way to hitting the ground.

The bottle shattered loudly on the ground, and the man’s dead body soon followed with a thud. The hooded figure looked down at the body, and then looked back at the other figures. It raised its hands and pulled the hood back and off its head. A man’s face with a bald head emerged from the dark cloak. But the skin was in a shade of blue, almost as if it were frozen. Piercing silver eyes looked around at the buildings. Two black and red triangles were imprinted over the man’s eyes, pointing towards his pupil. A thin smile graced his blue face and pearly white teeth shone in the night. His eyes looked back and he cocked his head back towards the other figures.

“Destroy it.” He said softly but just loud enough for them to hear.

“Destroy it all”
