A Sequel to the Epic Story Anti-Reality

Introduction: Glance into the Looking Glass

Alternate realities exist. Not only do they exist…there are hundreds, thousands, even millions of them. Every single one different from the former. Some are inhabited by humans, some by creatures, and others aren’t even colonized. Yet, no one had yet to discover the hidden elemental portals between them all. That is, until the Jaren Empire accidentally built one, using electromagnetic energy. The gateway that they finally ended up building connected the worlds of Aern and Earth together.

“We will incorporate the people under our open arms and make them members of our regime.”

The Empire tried to conquer the world.

But there was a resistance.

A rebellion on Aern was already fighting the Empire.

Six teenagers tried to stop the invasion.

But found themselves on Earth, fighting alongside six teenagers from that world.

They won, with help from two other teens.

They closed the portals and the two worlds were closed off from each other

But it came at a heavy cost.

A boy sacrificed his life to save the friends he loved.

That happened five years ago. Aern was freed from the Empire’s evil claws by an all out attack by rebellions all over the world. Earth went back to its normal state, Melrose started to rebuild itself after the attempted invasion. The teenagers were honored for their bravery and they made their own dedication for the boy who gave his life. And they moved on with their lives, the seven from the other world adjusting and learning how to live with freedom they had been given. Prosperity, although meager in all, returned to the lives of the people on Earth.

But peace can not last forever.

That’s how the saying goes; “The more things change…the more they stay the same.”

The snow fell silently and softly to the cold, white and gray ground. The night was silent as well in the cold city of Melrose, the blizzard having passed by and now the soft remnants continued to cover the land. It was the good snow too; not too fluffy and not too sticky. It was what one would define as “perfect snow”. It was Christmas Eve; families slept deep in hopes of a good Christmas morning full of presents and bonding and cheer. It was going to be a perfect white Christmas.

The city buildings stood eerily in the falling snow, shadows of their destruction all but gone. The city had been rebuilt, people had been honored and life went on. The pain and fear had diminished into peace and prosperity. For five long years, there hadn’t been commotion…no danger of which to speak that was “out of the ordinary”.

A cloaked figure stood silent, standing on top of the city hall clock tower. It watched over the city, the snow slowly falling and melting into its black cloak. Its arms rested at its side, covered by the long sleeves. It cocked its head to its left softly, as if looking over its shoulder. Another cloaked figure walked up slowly to the first one, standing slightly behind them. They both stared forward over the city.

“It’s beautiful…the snow.” The original figure said. It had a manly voice, higher than normal but still manly.

“It’s just like home.” The other figure said. Its voice was deeper than the other one’s.

The first figure chuckled softly and brought its right arm up. The sleeve slowly fell down its arm and revealed its hand. A metal object was attached to its right hand, running all the way down its fingers as well. The figure’s hand was a pale bluish color. It spun it around, palms up, and held it up. A snowflake fell softly into its hand.

“It even feels the same.” He said. “This could be a perfect second home.”

“Don’t get any ideas. You know why we’re here.” The other said coldly.

The first figured looked over its shoulder again. “Yes, I know.” And he shook off his hand.
“What makes you so sure that he will come here?” The other figure said.

“He’ll come. If he’s been tracking us as well as we’ve been tracking him, he’ll come.”

“So do you think we still need a little…inspiration to get him here?”

“Of course. We just need to weed them out and find them. There are hundreds of people in this city. And we don’t even know if they’re all still here. But don’t worry, we’ll find them.”

The second figure scoffed and shook its head softly. “And then he’ll come. Then we can finally take back the third Gaelias.”

“Oh yes…we’ll take it back.”

“I’m going to report to the others. I’m assuming you’ll be joining soon?”

The first figure nodded. The second one turned around and headed back behind the bell tower. The first figure looked up at the sky slowly, the snow still continuing to fall softly.

“I will take the Gaelias back. And I will avenge our brother’s death. Everything you’ve done to our plans, all the ruin and destruction you caused, I will repay you for. Mark my words.”

Merry Christmas
