How very peculiar, I do believe Angel has been avoiding me. Everytime that I've gone to speak with him he's been very abrupt with me, like he is constantly trying to get me out of his office. I don't understand what it is that has got him worked up in such a way. Perhaps it is just the pressure of becoming the new head of a formerly evil law firm. Oh who the bloody hell was I kidding? There was no formerly when it was currently evil. It didn't matter who was behind the reigns, the senior partners were evil. No matter which was you looked at it, it constantly seemed as if they were trying to get under our skin so to speak. Especially Angel. Well, they always were after Angel from day one. It was always about Angel with them. One would assume they were so interested in him because of the prophecies about him and the apocalypse.
Thank God for Fred, her smiles have been keeping me sane for the last few weeks it would seem. Every once in awhile, my fax machine would click on. When I went to retrieve the paper being fed out of the machine, it would contain some little sweet note she had sent. We had been spending so much time together I was afraid it would begin to affect our work. So far that has not seemed the case though. I'm more than content to leave this place behind at the end of the day and curl up on the couch with Fred watching a movie.
My thoughts were interupted by the phone ringing on my desk. I picked it up and was annoyed to hear Harmony's voice on the other line. Granted I had been the one to hire her, and some days I really wished I hadn't.
"Wesley, Angel wanted me to call you. Cordy woke up from her coma and he wants you to meet him in the infirmary. He said..." I didn't even let her finish her sentance before I hung up the phone. Cordelia was awake?
Why, this was wonderful.
Quickly I got up from my seat and headed downstairs for the infirmary. I found Angel standing in the hallway and immediately walked over to him.
"Harmony told me Cordelia was awake."
