God must be one sick motherfucker.

i feel like i am getting nowhere in this job search. it's bringing me down. all the job offers that i've gotten sounded sketchy or consisted of something that i would rather kill myself than do. i feel that today's job market is too much about who you know, not what you know. it makes me ill. weird enough, while interning at a radio station recently, i think that looks are starting to matter in the radio world too.

no, i'm not skinny. no, i don't wear high heels. no, i don't wear dresses half the time. no, i'm not some stupid blonde chick that will bow down before you.

i wish this process was easier. i can't be picky anymore. i have this gut feeling that i'm going to wind up in a really shitty job before i find anything remotely close to what i want to do. i don't want to wind up like my parents with jobs that they profusely hate, but at this point, i might have to take what i can get.

promotions is my forte. if anything, i want to be involved with this process somehow, somewhere.

besides me being down in the dumps, i just got back from an amazing time in Chicago. i went to Lollapalooza with Lauren and Anna. i got to see so many bands that i probably wouldn't have the chance otherwise to see. i throughly enjoyed going to Grant Park everyday and seeing the most beautiful skyline ever at night. Even Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were there. im also happy to report that i have a new favorite video bowling game i'm addicted to. Me and Lauren played that bitch again last night at Greene Street.
Bands that i got to check out:
The Fratellis
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
Jack's Mannequin [how i love thee Andrew.]
M.I.A.
Against Me!
The Rapture
Mickey Avalon [the dude has a song about his dick. enough said.]
Daft Punk [one of the best shows ever, plus me and Anna had the most amazing dance party to these guys.]
Matt & Kim
I'm From Barcelona
Silverchair
Motion City Soundtrack
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Regina Spektor
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Muse
Interpol
Annuals [NC represent]
Iggy and the Stooges
Peter Bjorn and John
Modest Mouse
My Morning Jacket
TV on the Radio
Pearl Jam

i forgot to mention that i did my usual trip to Warped Tour before i left for Chicago. i saw all the bands i wanted to see except for the Spill Canvas. i went to Sounds of the Underground too, but Every Time I Die canceled their show. i waited in line with Wendy for 4 hours outside of the Millenium Center. i got toasted while she got sun poisoning. i doubt i'll be attending it again after that.

next week i'm coming home. i'll be doing some more job searching. wish me luck.
