It's an interesting note that monitor lizards can go three to six months without food, depending on the species.

Candy, hm? I seem to have been unaffected. How terribly unfortunate, I know. Really, though, consider it this way: had my quills become suddenly sweet and edible, anyone so much as tempted by the thought of having a taste would have soon found themselves missing a limb or four.
