I hereby ban myself. . .
I waste far too much of my free time on three websites that I get nothing from:
Slashdot
Digg
4Chan
It isn't even that I enjoy reading these websites. Its that whenever I want to procrastinate on something I find myself typing one of these three addresses into the URL bar and then viola -- hours of time down the drain. When I didn't have internet for the first week of the summer I got so much done. I would sit down in front of my computer and rather than spend the first thirty minutes to an hour checking to see if something new appeared on slashdot I would immediately get to work on whatever it was I had come to the computer to do.
And there really isn't anything on these sites. I rarely actually read the articles on Slashdot, I'm more amused by the banter going on in the thread. Digg is really just a shit hole of random garbage, it really isn't even a news site anymore -- just a place for people to post random articles they found amusing. And 4Chan,I started going there because I liked their wallpaper boards. But how many wallpapers does one person need? Currently windows changes my wallpaper every 15 minutes -- my last calculation was that it would take 80 days to show every wallpaper I currently have.
So hence forth -- I ban myself from Slashdot, Digg, and 4Chan. I have better things to do with my time, and there's better websites out there to read.
