Getting to know you meme

It took a week, but we finally managed to exorcise the Yokai who'd set up a repeating three-hour loop in the Yurokucho Line in Ginza. Thankfully, most of the tourists blamed the delay on equipment malfunction. Only three were spirited away ( Read more... )

What do you mean by "spirited away"?

The yokai settled on the face of these people and swallowed their souls. To anyone watching, it looked like they had a stroke.

Luckily, no one died and the yokai released her victims when she realized what she'd done.

What's your favorite thing to do?

I'm glad they'll be alright then.

I'd have to say either reading or sparring.

What's your favorite food?

Same. Mai-chan got sucked into the loop. We thought it'd get her before, but we managed to knock her out of it.

Either side of the spectrum, hmm?

Takoyaki. That's dumplings with a bit of octopus in them. What's yours?

Hahaha, I guess!

I love lemon pie. That and lime. I can never choose a favorite.

Who's Mai-chan?

Lemon pie? And limes. Aren't those sour?

She's the office assistant, but she helps on every consultation. I kind of made her my adopted sister.

I've seen you commenting, so know you have family. What are they like?

What can I say? I like sour foods ( ... )

Yeah...but lemons?

Nah. I asked. I've met Manabe and Kamina-san. They seem like good people.

Definitely smiles. I probably notice all around attractiveness, but it's not a conscious thing.

What's the best and worst part about having such an extended family?

When it's in pie, it isn't that bad. There's enough sugar to where the sourness isn't overwhelming.

The best part is always having someone to go to when you need help. The worst part... I guess it's having so many people to worry about.

Do you prefer scary movies or comedies?

Should've realized. Thought you meant straight lemons.

Yeah. Maybe that's why I stick with SPR. They're my family. Hunh.

Comedies. I see too much scary stuff to like it in movies.

Hahaha, I thought I said pie. Though I did used to like lemons with salt when I was little. ...I really don't know why I liked that.

I know what you mean. Though I do enjoy action films even though my life seems like one at times.

Did you have another question for me?

You did, but I got caught up on the lemon part. Pie's not common here. Sounds like you have the makings of a tequila drinker.

Some scary ones are alright. Most are stupid or hit too close to home. And I can always use a good laugh.

Too tired. I'll still answer or we can shoot the breeze.

Tequila's pretty good, actually.

I love watching stupid movies, especially really bad martial arts films. They're fun to laugh at.

Shooting the breeze sounds good. I've just about run out of questions anyway.

I don't do hard liquor except tequila.

Dude. I own all the MST3K DVDs. You ever see the chop socky movie about Uncle Monkey? I rented it for 5 yen. Wish to god I'd bought the damn thing.

I can only think of so many before I start sounding like a Cosmo poll.

I don't drink very often, but when I do I'll drink practically anything. Vodka's my favorite, though. That and rum.

I love MST3K! It's fantastic. ...Uncle Monkey? I can't say I've ever heard of that one.

Hahaha, exactly!

Vodka doesn't taste like anything. Rum's good, even if they use it to make a bunch of frou frou drinks. Bet you'd like fuzzy navels.

I'll loan you the DVDs if you want. Oh, god. It was your basic Romeo & Juliet rip-off, only the they get caught. "Romeo" gets killed and the princess is set adrift and lands on an island where she meets a chimpanzee. Who takes care of her. They're quite affectionate.

Hard to remember, I was stoned when I saw this. I made some joke about the princess getting pregnant from the chimp. Everyone laughed 'cause it was impossible. Then lo and behold! She is pregnant--with Romeo's kid. The kid grows up referring to the chimp as "Uncle Monkey." Uncle Monkey is some sort of martial arts guru and teaches the kid all he knows and helps him lead a rebellion when he gets older.

The chimp. Martial arts. Stupidest movie I've ever seen.
