The Weekend in Review and Carter Yach!!

Jan 14, 2013 22:30

I just got back from taking Arno to work and visiting Cat at Lutheran Hospital. She gave birth to her new son Carter yesterday morning. Maybe I knew already and maybe I overlooked it, but I am amazed that she had a natural birth with both children. I completely admire that. It was great to see her and meet Carter. She is a wellspring of knowledge and has this talent of communicating it clearly with me. I am excited to talk with her more as I get closer to delivering my lil Shoeboat.

I am so happy that I have the friends that I have. Its great to visit Cat in the hosptial, to see Didi a few weeks ago, Thursday I had dinner with Ben, Saturday night I saw Anne and Shaun. I am so blessed with the people in my life. I had such a nice weekend too with the girls and Arno. Ben and I went to Tom's Urban 24 on Thursday night for dinner, Ben's treat, which was awesome! We had parmesan truffle popcorn and barbacoa green chili mac for appetizers. We shared some blue crab enchiladas and a margarita pizza for dinner, and then I had a house made donut for dessert. I also had two mocktails. I filled him in on everything going on with my dad, and he told me about his Christmas and what's going on with Kirstin. He has it bad. :)

Arno was off work Friday night, so him, Ayanna and I went down to Pizza Fusion (http://pizzafusion.com/) to eat. It was very good, and we were happy to hear that this location works with the Denver homeless population. The food was really damn good too. Our server screwed up our pizza and the manager gave it to us FOR FREE. It was awesome. I was using a Living Social voucher, so we ended up ordering another pizza to go. After dinner we went over to Eleanor's house and hung out for a while.

Saturday was the Broncos playoff game. Disa and Jimmy came over with Xander to watch it with us. It was a close and great game, and my little Broncos voice told me we would lose, which I didn't want to say out loud. We had a very disappointing loss in double overtime. It was a horrible way to end such a great season, and I'm still emotional about it.

After the game, Arno went over to Daryl and Amber's house and the girls and I went down to Jose O'Shea's to meet Anne and Shaun and that usual crew. They had been there for the game, and since I'd been at home, they were wrapping up for the evening to go to the Rock Rest. Katie and her friend stayed with the girls and I while the girls ate and I drank an O'Douls. We left after a bit and went to pick up Arno at his friend's house. We hung out there for a few and then headed home to watch TV. We ended up laying around and watching Scream until 1am.

Sunday Arno had his therapy class, so I got up to take him and then to pick him up. In the afternoon all four of us went to The Ridge so Ayanna could shoot hoops and Kyla and I could walk around and jog. I want to start swimming. Hopefully, as football season winds down the girls will want to go to the Rec Center with me on their Sundays. Gianna's birthday party was later that evening at The Dakota's. It was a lot of fun. The food was bomb. We had fried chicken, a huge party sub, potato salad, fruit salad, chips and homemade salsa and pasta salad. And of course there were cupcakes. It was a blast. I can't believe Gia is over 1 year old now. Craziness.

Today then was back to work. Sherry had jury duty and didn't tell anyone, and Brittany and I sent Kristin home since she came in and threw up. It was a pretty good day, and I worked my ass off all day. When I got home, I quickly mixed up a batch of Spicy Chicken Stuff, baked it and then ran out the door to go see Cat and Carter with Arno. :)
