The allure of wine and orchestra

Aug 14, 2006 20:35

Well, this last weekend T and I had dinner with another couple at their house. I got to try Czech food, and it was delicious. I also had 3 glasses of wine (2 red, 1 white), and I have to say it was my first time I really enjoyed drinking wine. T was laughing at his tipsy girl.

Then on Sunday T and I went to listen to the Wellington Youth Orchestra Concert at the Michael Fowler Centre. I also got a taste of an opera singer there, during one of their numbers, and I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed hearing classical music, and in Wellington. I haven't been to a classical concert since going to them with my dad back in Minnesota.

I actually took a liking to the opera singer, and am wondering whether it would be worth it to see Faust, when it comes to Wellington in a few months? I will think about it and see if T will go with me. We got a miniature calendar that shows different arts events in Wellington up until December, I believe.

Other than that, I've just been working and finding my way around Wellington and Lower Hutt. I rode the train this morning and it was a novel experience. It's not the first time I've rode the trains here, it's the second, but there's still something innately uplifting about having new experiences and today was one of those times.

I was also proud that I got the router working on our two Macs in the house, when one of them was unusual and it took some work this last Friday. However, we now have internet access on both of them.

Well that's all for now. Will try to update again soon. laters, bn.
