Being exhausted is much better than being bored.
I'm exhausted. The rehearsals for the new show are going well, I think. We've found a way of muddling through the sudden departure of one of our principals, a very good singer and experienced actor. The
whole cast are wonderful; lots of effort and exuberance. The choreography is coming along. We're still a total blank on the "tech" side, coming down to the wire. My main responsibility is the script. There are
many rewrites, changes, information to get out to the cast. Thank heaven for e-mail, copiers, computers, etc.
The Theatre Building Chicago workshop continues to be interesting. This past weekend, my writing partner
Doug and I presented his music and my lyrics for part of a particularly difficult assignment, a musical
scene from a somber but hopeful little play called "Strange Snow." We botched the presentation rather, but
people could see that what we had so far was good. We'll present it again at the next meeting as make-up work.
I continue to enjoy the entries of my friends.
Cheers, everyone!
