Slow drone, slow drone your moving to fast
Look to the shore from a top a mast
A Gala Mill lies in a clearing
And slow convict rock is what your hearing

I thought i'd write a lil post bout the new drones cd 'Gala Mill'.

To begin with i was a little worried about this cd not living up to the lofty heights set by its predecessors. And it does fall a lil short. Only coz the others are so good. The more i listen to this though the greater it becomes. Would have liked some more songs (petty complaint) coz the more songs, the longer you can listen. There are some beautiful songs ie. dog-eared, which kind of came as a surprise coz its one word i didn't think i'd ever use with them. Sometimes the music is a bit dead with not much happening but a dry snare being hit, but that's the sort of thing i'm growing to. Also, some songs lack a good climax. They almost get there and then draw back, leaving you feeling robbed. And since they're usually so good at peaking their songs, it makes me think it was done intentionally, and that shits me. It does include the best wake up song on it though, 'I don't ever want to change'. I love that one in the morn.
In summary its a great cd considering its not their nieche musical angle, but it didn't totally satisfy my thirst for more maniacal, goose-bumpin' drones tunes like dekalb blues, makes me feel so bad.
