Waxing Poetic

Mar 06, 2007 15:40

So, it is coming to the end of my time with

chavelaprincess  and I am feeling in a poetic frame of mind, which is fleeting for me, therefore very important to take advantage of.

I have not written a poem about my surrogate daughter, notsopeachie, before, so I felt like it was time to do her some justice (so to speak).

In honor of the past week and a half spent with these two LOVERLY ladies, here are my latest offerings.

For Jess,

Chrysalis

In her cocoon,
she waits,
Dawn, she is rising,
with her promise.
Metamorphoses,
a soul in transition,
crossing over the threshold of purpose.
Once she is ready,
she will emerge from her darkness,
the demanding womb that envelopes her
will fall away.
She will unfurl her gossamer,
the weaving of experience which has created a mosaic
of greens and blues, purples and pinks,
to reveal a new spirit,
a new mind,
fresh with intent,
ripe with possibility.
She will fly,
yes, and she will soar,
for she is a butterfly.

And for my Isa  (I tried to write this in the spirit of William Blake :)

Ode to the Gothic Queen

To know you is to love you,
Oh, Gothic Queen!
You are a little bit darkness,
a little bit lantern light,
a little bit the grey of the ether.
You provoke a smile,
with your mane of russet.
Your wise eyes show the tragedy that you foresee,
but comfort in the knowledge that all things rise once they have fallen.
The smoke of the den does not interrupt your flow,
for you are the flow.
Just as you watch the Dawn awaken,
it watches you sleep,
biding your time.
Oh, Gothic Queen!
Be our darkness,
Be our light.

There you go.  Hope that you enjoy them, for I enjoy my time with both of the inspirations :).  Ta.
