Yay, I'm glad you liked it too! I haven't really seen many people's reactions to it but it doesn't surprise me that people didn't like it, what with it being more or less the same as the original. But, whatever, for some reason I find myself ridiculously charmed by this stupid show, despite all its flaws.
Hahaha, so true! Anything is going to look like a masterpiece next to South of Nowhere. I also think the acting is improving; some of the line readings are still a bit off, but I think by the end of the season some of them will be really good.
I haven't seen any negativity for 103, I have to say, everything I've seen has been positive. Yes it was a copy, but it was done originally, if that makes sense. I think Jesse brought a different sort of Chris to the table here and it was well appreciated.
Okay, actually the only negativity I've seen is for T/T. DNW, like, EVER, and most people agree. People were really pissed when they showed the preview for Cadie's episode and it's clear that T/T is going to be dragged out annoyingly long all season. T/T is definitely the most hated ship ... possibly in all of Skins, tbh.
Ugh, there's more T/T in the previews? Fuck that. If there's one thing that will really turn me off this show it would be T/T happening (more than it already has, I mean).
Overall I wasn't massively enthused with the ep, but that's probably my own fault since I watched Chris' ep so recently.
I think that's understandable. It's like reading a book shortly before seeing the film adaptation - of course you're bound to notice the differences and compare to the original.
I agree that Jesse has better chemistry with Camille (which I enjoyed quite a lot) than the actress playing Tina. Also the Chris/Tina stuff seems squickier than Chris/Angie because Jesse comes across as a lot younger than Joe.
They made her so outrageously gay in all the promo, it seems contradictory backpeddle now for the sake of Dramah.
Seriously! It just seems weird to take a character who's already gone through the process of figuring out her sexuality, and then make her do it all over again. It's not like a straight person reassessing their sexuality, because a gay person's already done that. It also seems weird to have her go from laughing over how terrible the sex was to having ~feelings.
