My head is swimming a little. I test drove two Hondas today: the Fit and the Civic sedan.
I LOVE the FIT! It's so friggin' cool! The back seats fold flat - and I do mean FLAT. When most cars say the back seat folds down, well it does, but it sticks up 3-4" at an angle. This is big, FLAT, tall storage with a low sill hatchback. It would be soooo easy to pack/ unpack the gear. When the seat backs are up, you can also lift the seatbottom up (like a theater seat) for taller stuff. The back doors also open nice and wide -about 80degrees instead of the more usual 65. This IS a Pennsic mobile.
The Civic offers a bigger engine, a quieter, ride, conservative style, trunk is a little deeper than my Saturn, I could definetly get all my stuff in. But it feels MUCH bigger than my car. That's not a good thing. I like the handeling and feel of a little car. I like being able to reach the back seat from the front seat -of course not while I'm driving... no, I would NEVER try to reach something that had fallen on the floor in the back behind the passenger seat while the car was moving... at a high rate of speed... on the expressway. No, not me, never.... Ever.
I also like to laugh at people in big honkin' cars who don't know how to steer or find the gas peddle or park between 2 SUV's.
Ha-ha.
So that the Honda. I'm off to Toyota next. Looking at the Yaris 4door sedan, and the Corolla.
