A Rabbinic View of Human Rights in Israel
Thursday, January 17 - 4 to 6 pm
Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave., Somerville

An opportunity not to be missed, Rabbi Arik Ascherman will speak about Rabbis for Human Rights' rabbinic and hopeful message of on-the-ground activism for an Israel that lives up to the highest Jewish values. Rabbis for Human Rights have worked in Israel to create a different image of what it means to be a religious Jew--accompanying Palestinian farmers as they graze their sheep to defend against Settler attack, and speaking out against increasingly Hawkish Israeli government.

Speaking in the afternoon at Arts at the Armory Cafe in Somerville, MA, Rabbi Ascherman will speak about the work that Rabbis for Human Rights does in Israel, and the ways we can support human rights in Israel from a Jewish perspective.

The event is sponsored by Jewish Voices for Peace Boston, a chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, the largest US-based grassroots organization dedicated to promoting full equality, democracy, and self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians. The event is free of charge; donations are welcome.
