Tonight, Fab Husband and I are attending my (gasp!) ten year college reunion. Although my graduating class from
Boston College was huge, and I won't know a lot of people there, we're going with some friends and looking forward to catching up with those who we DO know (provided we can find them in the crowd). Lots of people don't like attending their reunions, or ignore the milestones, or simply don't care about them. For me, it's time to honor the specialness of that time in my life. I loved those four years, and came out of school with some of my very closest friends, my husband (although I didn't know it at the time), and a foundation that I've built on both professionally and personally. I'm grateful for that experience, and glad to have a chance to reconnect with those who made it so special.
Bright and early tomorrow morning, I'll be on a train to NYC, to embrace a new part of my life. Sally the Agent is in New York for BEA, and after some creative scheduling, we've arranged a time to meet! Yay! She's been working very hard, dealing with editors and submitting my manuscript, and I'm looking forward to thanking her in person (she also has me under Blog Lockdown in regards to posting about where/who/what with the manuscript, which is why you've heard NOTHING about that. Boooo). I'm staying with one of my best friends from college, who is a Fantabulous Broadway Musician. She's promised to take me to a swanky bar tomorrow night. I tried to explain that I don't do swank--she should know this, after all--but she's very good at not listening to what I think I want and taking me on fun adventures. So I'll go along with my Swankification.
Hope that your weekend is filled with old friends and new, and that you have an adventure of your own!
