My new favorite song is "Battle Flag" by Lo Fidelity Allstars (featuring Pigeonhead--why does every band feature someone else lately?). The version I downloaded from iTunes features a satisfying amount of profanity (beware ye with tender ears), has a great beat, and offers the line "Gotta launder my karma."
I'm also obsessively playing "Weapon of Choice" by Fatboy Slim and "Shipping Up to Boston" by the Dropkick Murphys. Hmmm....a bit stressed out, are we?
Mice
We had mice in our attic. Might still, actually. I woke Fab Husband up in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago because it sounded as though critters were bowling above us. Then we heard them munching on the insulation in the walls.
"I'll go get traps," he sighed.
"Non-lethal ones," I responded. "Snap traps are awful. Get the ones where you catch them in a box and release them." For that comment, I got a raised eyebrow.
"I'll drive them far away," I promised.
Next, he called me from Home Depot.
"Snap traps are four for $4.99. Havaheart traps are $19.95 apiece. We need four of them."
Eighty bucks for traps?! "Get one Havaheart trap," I sighed. "The little guy should be able to choose his fate."
Five traps go in the attic, baited with peanut butter. Four of them caught mice. Guess which trap was empty?
Sadness.

Ummmm....The Red Sox beat the Yankees again last night!!

That about sums up how much writing I've been doing..
