Had a nice trip home the other day. It was really good to be able to see some people I hadn't seen in some time. The trip home was uneventful and smooth - although I stand by the notion that NH drivers suck more ass than anyone else. Some idiot on the bus got held up at customs, thus delaying the entire bus by half an hour. Why do people do that? I think people who don't have their visa shit together shouldn't be allowed to travel by bus, or at least, if they get held up they should just enjoy the comfort of the waiting area at US customs until the next bus comes through.
Went to see the BodyWorlds2 anatomical show at the Museum of Science the other day with my twin. For those interested in information,
www.bodyworlds.com. I have to admit, at first I was a bit sickened with the display of humans ripped open. Despite handling (and even cutting into) hundreds of dead bodies over my time, I was a bit taken back at the shock value of this show. It was truly like looking at plastic models, but knowing they were all once alive kind of made me sick at first. Then I got over it fast. Seeing all the insides of the body up close and in such detail was truly amazing. The only real annoying part was this one bitch who seemed to be with her mother - she was lecturning mom all about anatomy. Not sure who she was trying to impress, but watching her eat her round chocolate balls over dead intestines just didn't mix well with my tummy. Please, I wanted her to choke (just a little) on one of those balls. One man in his haste to see the bodies up close before me at numerous stations kept getting in my way. Since I'm fat, I decided to just step on his heel. Funny how pain can stop an idiot (him, NOT me) so fast! All in all it was a great show.
The pooch goes in for her snip snip in two days. I'm a very worried Jewish dad. Right now she's crashed on the sofa. I put a couple of Patch's clothes there for her to get cozy on with a framiliar smell. She seems to be very grateful. I fell asleep last night with her spooning me under my right arm and woke up with her sleeping on one of my legs. Kudos to her for moving so much during the night and not waking me up. Now that she's become quite friendly with my twin's dog upstairs, I find I have to entertain the pooch much less - thus saving all that precious energy for me.
My new course starts on Friday. I've only done half the reading I need to. I'll have it done. Lots of legal stuff to read which is very heavy on the eyes. I'm taking the course with an old friend of mine from college. It will be just like it was 20 years ago, well of course she looks better, I got fat and oh yeah, OLDER. Sheesh.
Toodles.
