Here is my first real update in a long long long long long long long long long long long long time.
Can you all believe it. I'm really back in LJ land. I forgot how pretty it was here. So beautiful. I mean look at all the wonderful sights, sounds, and people.
Okay, seriously, here it is... the update.
Life has been pretty good. Sure it has had it's ups and downs but for the most part I have no complaints.
I havn't met anyone that makes me think "yay...I love this person." But hey, I think I'm just gonna have to stop looking and start hoping this sort of person just falls into my lap. lol. (that would be kind of cool. People falling from the sky into other peoples laps. lol). I have started writing alot more in the past month. It's good for me. Lets me more fully explore that creative side that I can't meander down that often when at work or out with friends. Sometimes I feel like the odd man out when I'm with my friends or coworkers. I mean am I the only one that thinks outragously creative. Or maybee I'm just not reality based or 'very grounded' as my parents would say. (Not to slam my parents, my mother does at least faine intrest in my writing. It's sweet really).
So my son, he deserves a huge mention in this update. He is getting so big. He's three now and god is he a talker. It's so cool he'll talk to me and tell me stories that he makes up on the fly. I swear it is the coolest thing ever. Being a single dad, I do my best to make sure his life is the best he could hope for. I never want to look back and say "I wish I would have tried harder." I want my son to always be well provided for and know he is loved.
Oh, here's a story for you. It's about the first and last time I tried spanking my son. (For all those of you out there that don't believe in giving kids spankings, don't worry, this is the only time. I have since found other, non physical ways to punish him). So, one day my son, Tony, decides it's a good time to talk back to me, ignore me, and generally decide he doesn't have to listen. (It all seems quite silly looking back on it). I get so fed up I ask if he wants a spanking. He says yes, and get this, puts his bottom in the air.(I didn't even know he knew what a spanking was.) My brother, who was there watching this whole scene unfold just starts laughing. I was doing my best to maintain some sterness and level of authority without laughing. lol. Okay, Okay, so with his bottom sticking up in the air I decide to give him a forceful, yet not harmful, swat on his butt. My son looks back at me, bottom still in the air and says "Not like that, do it like this. Try again." That was it, I couldn't help myself. I started to laugh and so did my brother. We started laughing so hard that we had to go into another room so my son wouldn't think we were playing the whole time. Funniest thing ever. I love Tony.
So tommorrow night I'm going to the Showbox to see the band Coheed and Cambria. I can't wait. I love that group. And there are going to be a ton of goth chicks there and they are so hot. So very hot.
