Mailbox mayhem

Dec 12, 2007 19:33

Monday morning, we found the zebra mailbox I had made a few years ago had been beheaded. We think it happened Saturday night since I had seen a suspicious red car creeping by real slow that night. The wooden zebra head had been ripped right off the screws but was nowhere to be found.
Several days later, it turned up among the crushed remains of a mailbox cluster serving the multifarious neigbors living up a deadend road north of us. (2) 12 packs full of empty beer bottles were found down the road so their motives were obvious. I know what the car looks like and will be watching...
One of our neighbors brought the head back and told us all the boxes in the cluster were destroyed, even the mailbox post was pulled out and bent like a pretzel. She wanted to buy one of my other mailboxes and I gave her a loaner until I could bring back the mailbox of her choice from the tack store they are on display at. I made a sale at last but the circumstances suck. At least they cant wreck the new post as easily, a 4"x4" post we had lying around as scrap and set in cement.

Medical Update; they got the tests back on the growth. It was indeed a cyst and not the other possibility. Yay!
